Letter to Directors
Greetings,
My name is SrA Michael Mannella and I would like to personally welcome you and thank you for inquiring into the educational outreach program. If you are visiting this website it is clear that you are either a music educator or like me, a lifetime student of music. Prior to enlisting in the band I was pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts at UT Austin and was a fierce advocate for music education. While living there I maintained an active private studio of over 50 students and was a teaching assistant at The University of Texas at Austin, working undergraduate and graduate trombone students and coaching the low brass section of the UT Longhorn Marching Band. I am very grateful that my commander, Cpt. David A. Alpar, has allowed me the opportunity to develop a very high quality educational outreach program.
On this website you will find links to multiple educational resources, pictures, sound clips, musical samples, handouts, information on how to request a clinic and a calendar of upcoming educational events that the band is sponsoring. I hope that you find this site to be a great resource for you and your students and pass along this link to other educators in your community.
